Bee Market is a UK marketplace that connects buyers with independent sellers who specialise in bee-related products such as honey, bees, beekeeping equipment, candles, and other natural products. Our Buyer Protection policy explains what buyers can reasonably expect when purchasing through the platform.
While Bee Market facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers, each seller remains responsible for handling returns and refunds in accordance with UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Bee Market provides a transparent framework that helps ensure buyers receive the products they ordered and that sellers follow fair marketplace practices.
Sellers choose one of two return settings for their listings:
Regardless of the return setting, UK statutory consumer rights always apply where the law requires a remedy.
When a listing shows the 14-Day Return option, buyers may request to return the item within fourteen days after receiving the order.
In most cases, buyers are responsible for the cost of returning the item to the seller. However, UK consumer law requires the seller to cover return postage if the item is:
Returned items must be sent back in the same condition they were received, including all accessories and components. Buyers may inspect the item only to the extent necessary to confirm its nature and quality.
Some products may have additional limitations for hygiene, safety, or resale reasons.
Some products cannot reasonably be returned due to safety, welfare, or hygiene considerations. In these cases, listings may display a No Returns Accepted setting.
This commonly applies to categories such as:
Live bees are never returnable once dispatch has occurred due to welfare and disease-control considerations.
Even where returns are not accepted, buyers still retain their statutory rights if an item is faulty, significantly not as described, damaged in transit, or never delivered.
When a buyer chooses to collect an item in person, they must inspect the product before accepting it.
If the item differs significantly from the listing, the buyer should refuse to accept it at the point of collection and request a refund through Bee Market.
Once the item has been accepted and taken by the buyer, the transaction is treated as final and is not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
When a return is accepted, the seller issues a refund after the returned item has been received and inspected.
Refunds normally include:
Refunds are issued to the same payment method used during checkout unless the buyer agrees to an alternative method.
Sellers must normally process refunds within fourteen days after receiving the returned item or proof of return.
Bee Market provides the platform that connects buyers and sellers, but the seller remains responsible for managing returns and refunds in accordance with UK law.
If a buyer and seller cannot reach an agreement, Bee Market may review the case to ensure the listing settings and UK consumer protection laws have been applied fairly.
Nothing in this policy limits a buyer’s statutory rights under UK consumer legislation.
