Bee Market — Terms and Conditions

Effective from 18 August 2026

Version: v1.1

1. Introduction

Thank you for using Bee Market. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) contain the rules and restrictions that govern your use of our Bee Market website, application, platform, and related services (together “Platform”). Bee Market is operated by Bee Market Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 15483631, with our official website at bee-market.co.uk. By accessing, registering, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to enter into a binding legal agreement with Bee Market Ltd and to comply fully with these Terms. Bee Market acts only as an independent intermediary: all buying and selling takes place directly between users. Depending on how you choose to use the Platform, you may act as a “Seller” (a user who lists goods or items for sale) and/or as a “Buyer”(a user who views, searches, and purchases items by completing checkout, which constitutes a “Transaction”). By continuing to use the Platform, you confirm that (1) you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms; (2) you are of legal age and capacity to form a binding contract; and (3) you have the authority to enter into these Terms personally. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.
2. General Disclaimer

Bee Market is an online marketplace operated by Bee Market Ltd. It provides a platform (the “Platform”) where independent users list, buy and sell directly with each other. A “Seller” is a user who lists goods or items for sale; a “Buyer” is a user who views, searches and purchases items by completing checkout (a “Transaction”).
Bee Market is not the seller of items listed on the Platform and is not a party to the sales contract, which exists solely between the Buyer and the Seller. We do not own, manufacture, inspect, store, test or guarantee the quality, safety, legality, accuracy or description of any products or listings. Content and items are supplied by users at their own risk.
Our role is limited to providing the Platform and payment processing. For completed Transactions, Bee Market acts as the Seller’s limited payment collection agent to accept funds from the Buyer and settle payouts to the Seller under these Terms. Platform fees are calculated on the total amount paid by the Buyer (including any delivery/shipping the Buyer pays at checkout) and are deducted from the Seller’s payout ( see 8. Fees and Payments). Except where required by law or in case of clear error, platform fees are non-refundable to the Seller.
We may offer dispute assistance (e.g., non-receipt) and may make determinations for Platform administration and payouts. Any such determination is final within the Platform. This does not affect any statutory rights a Buyer may have against a Seller under consumer law.
Except for handling payments as described, Bee Market shall not be liable for disputes, losses or damages arising from user activity on the Platform. Responsibility for products, listings, compliance, delivery, refunds and other obligations rests with Buyers and Sellers. Nothing in this disclaimer limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, nor does it affect your statutory rights.
3. Legal Responsibility

All users are solely responsible for ensuring their listings, purchases, and communications comply with local, national, and international laws. Bee Market does not verify legal compliance of listed products, such as ingredient labels, certification, safety markings, or business registrations.

By using the Platform, you agree that:

You understand and accept full legal responsibility for your products, listings, and conduct
You will not attempt to hold Bee Market liable in any personal, civil, or criminal claims
You waive any right to initiate or join any legal or court action against Bee Market for issues related to transactions, listings, or communication between users

Bee Market reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove or edit any content, suspend or block any account, restrict access, or carry out any administrative action deemed necessary to protect users, enforce these Terms, maintain trust in the Platform, or comply with legal obligations. Such actions may be taken without prior notice or liability.

4. User Eligibility & Accounts

To use the Bee Market website, application, platform, and related services (together, the “Platform”), you may be required to create an account (an “Account”) by choosing a password and providing a full name of your choice. You are responsible for the full name you provide: it must not impersonate or mislead, infringe any third-party rights, or contain offensive content. For verification, shipping, or payouts, we may require your legal name and supporting documents and may ask you to correct or update your details. You are responsible for all activity on your Account; keep your password confidential and notify Bee Market immediately of any unauthorised use. Accounts are personal, single-user, and non-transferable.
Accurate information: You must provide true, current, and complete information (including contact details) and keep it updated. You can review and correct your registration details before submitting your request.
Single, non-transferable Account: You may maintain only one Account. Accounts and passwords must not be shared, assigned, or transferred without our prior written consent.
Display name & impersonation: You may choose your own display name, but it must not impersonate any person, business, or authority; mislead about your identity or affiliation (e.g., use “Bee Market”, “Support”, “Official”); infringe trademarks or publicity rights; or contain offensive content. We may require a change, remove the name, or suspend your Account for violations.
Account security: You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activities under your Account. Notify Bee Market immediately of any suspected unauthorised use or security breach, and sign out at the end of each session.
Minors: The Platform is for adults only. You agree not to enable, facilitate, or permit use of your Account by minors, and you accept full responsibility for any such unauthorised use that you enable.
Verification: We may require identity, address, and payment verification (including KYC/AML checks) and request additional documents at any time. Failure to comply may lead to refusal, suspension, or closure of your Account.
Lawful use: You must comply with all applicable laws and must not use the Platform if prohibited by law (including sanctions or export-control restrictions).
Business sellers: If you act as a business, you must comply with consumer, tax, product-safety, advertising, and trading regulations applicable to you as a Seller.
Privacy: Your use of the Platform is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you consent to our processing of your data as described there.
Registration & bans: We may accept or reject registration requests at our discretion and have no liability for refusing registration. An agreement regarding your Account takes effect when we confirm your registration (e.g., via email). You agree not to create an Account or use the Platform if you have been permanently banned from any of our services.
Our rights: We may, at our sole discretion, refuse, suspend, or terminate any Account; restrict access; place holds on payouts; reverse or limit Platform features; remove content; or take other administrative actions where we suspect breach of these Terms, unlawful activity, risk to users or Bee Market, or to comply with legal obligations.
Updates to Terms: We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
5. Selling on Bee Market

Users who list items for sale (“Seller”) must comply with the following requirements. By selling on the Platform, you also agree to Bee Market’s Returns & Refunds Policy (UK) and Cancellation Policy (UK), which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Bee Market charges a 7% selling fee on the total amount paid by the Buyer (including any buyer-paid delivery), with a strict minimum of £0.30. This fee is deducted at the time of sale. In the event of a cancellation or refund, the Buyer receives the full amount paid. However, shipping labels generated for dispatch are non-refundable, and the Seller remains responsible for the cost of any outbound delivery label that has already been created or used.

Delivery costs. Shipping labels are generated by the Seller through the Bee Market platform. Bee Market pays the postage provider for the label at the time it is created. The label cost is then deducted from the transaction amount when the Seller withdraws their earnings. The Buyer’s payment therefore covers both the item price and the delivery charge where applicable.

Delivery cost handling & examples

Shipping labels are generated by the Seller through the Bee Market platform. Bee Market pays the postage provider for the label when it is created. The label cost is then deducted from the Seller’s transaction balance before the Seller withdraws their earnings. If the listing charges delivery to the Buyer, the delivery amount is included in the Buyer’s payment as part of the transaction.

Buyer Pays Delivery

Item £100.00 + Delivery £10.00 → Buyer pays £110.00.
Bee Market fee (7% with min £0.30) on £110.00 = £7.70.
Delivery label = £10.00.
Seller earns £92.30.

Seller Pays Delivery (Free Delivery)

Item listed at £100.00 + Delivery £10 → Buyer pays £100.00.
Bee Market fee (7% with min £0.30) on £100.00 = £7.00.
Delivery label = £10.00.
Seller earns £83.00.

Note: Bee Market fee is always 7% of the total paid by the Buyer, with a strict minimum of £0.30.

Return settings. Each listing must use one of the two return options defined in our policy:
14-Day Return (default): Buyer may request a return within 14 days of delivery. The Buyer usually pays return postage unless UK law requires the Seller to cover it (e.g., faulty, significantly not as described, substantially damaged on arrival, or not delivered). Refunds include the item price and the standard outbound delivery charge paid (if any).
No Returns Accepted: Reserved for categories where returns are unsafe or impractical (e.g., live bees, hygiene-sensitive items once seals are broken, worn/used protective clothing, certain custom/personalised items). Statutory rights still apply.

Live bees: For welfare and biosecurity reasons, live bees are never returnable once dispatch has taken place.

Collection orders: If the Buyer chooses in-person collection, the Buyer must inspect the item at pickup. If the Buyer refuses collection because the item is clearly different from the listing, they may request a refund through Bee Market. Once the Buyer collects and accepts the item, the transaction is final — no returns or refunds are available.

Restricted products. Some categories are allowed on Bee Market but must follow extra rules (for example, food products, live bees, used equipment with biosecurity risks). Sellers must review and comply with the requirements in our Restricted Products Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Failure to meet the category-specific rules may result in listing removal or account action.

Prohibited products. Certain items are not allowed on Bee Market under any circumstances (for example, illegal goods, hazardous substances, or items banned by UK law). The full list is set out in our Prohibited Products Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Attempting to list or sell prohibited items may lead to immediate suspension or termination of your account, without notice.

Listings. Every listing on Bee Market must be relevant to beekeeping or bee-related products (for example: live bees, hives, equipment, honey, wax, protective clothing, or related supplies). Listings must be accurate, lawful, and informative, including a clear title, detailed description, fair pricing, and relevant images to help Buyers make informed decisions.

Provide truthful, complete, and accurate product descriptions.
Do not list or sell illegal, restricted, counterfeit, or unsafe goods.
Comply with UK laws on packaging, labelling, product safety, and consumer rights.
We strongly recommend all Sellers read the full Fees and Payments Policy as it explains how fees and payouts work in detail — from the point of sale through reserves and refunds to the final payout — with clear worked examples.
For live bees, colonies, or queens, comply with all UK rules; ensure transport, packaging, and delivery are safe, lawful, and welfare-focused.
Select one of the return options per listing and comply with that choice.

Bee Market does not verify product claims, authenticity, or labelling. Sellers are solely responsible for legal compliance. Any consequences arising from restricted, unsafe, or non-compliant goods are the Seller’s responsibility.

Handmade, homemade, and bee-related items (e.g., honey, wax, soaps, remedies) are permitted but must be described accurately. Bee Market is not liable for allergic reactions, injuries, or health issues caused by such items.

Bee Market may, at its sole discretion, remove listings, restrict selling privileges, or suspend/terminate a Seller account to protect users, enforce these Terms, or comply with law. Actions may be taken with or without notice.

5A. Trusted Seller Verification

Bee Market may designate certain Sellers as a “Trusted Seller” where Bee Market has carried out additional checks on information provided by or relating to the Seller. Trusted Seller status is intended to help Buyers identify Sellers whose business information has undergone additional review by Bee Market.

Verification checks. Depending on the Seller and the products they offer, Bee Market may review information such as the Seller's identity, business details, company registration, food business registration, trading information, location, product information, or other relevant supporting information.

Where applicable, Bee Market may also check information using publicly available registers, official records, documents supplied by the Seller, or other sources that Bee Market considers reasonably appropriate.

Meaning of the Trusted Seller badge. A Trusted Seller badge means that Bee Market has completed the checks that it considered appropriate for that Seller at the time of verification. The badge does not mean that Bee Market continuously monitors the Seller or independently inspects every product, transaction, manufacturing process, apiary, premises, or activity carried out by the Seller.

Trusted Seller status does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, certification or endorsement by Bee Market of the Seller or of any individual product or service offered by that Seller. Buyers should continue to review individual listings carefully before making a purchase.

Seller information. Sellers applying for or holding Trusted Seller status must provide truthful, accurate, complete and up-to-date information. Sellers must not provide false or misleading documents, registrations, business details, product information or other evidence for the purpose of obtaining or retaining Trusted Seller status.

A Trusted Seller must notify Bee Market where information relevant to their verification materially changes, including where a registration, licence, business status or other information relied upon during verification expires, is suspended, is withdrawn or is no longer accurate.

Seller responsibility. Trusted Seller status does not transfer responsibility for legal or regulatory compliance to Bee Market. The Seller remains solely responsible for their listings, products, services and business activities and for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, registrations, licences, labelling requirements, product safety requirements and consumer protection obligations.

Where a Trusted Seller profile displays information concerning matters such as UK operation, registration, production, manufacture or harvesting, that information is based on the information and evidence available to Bee Market when the relevant verification was carried out. Sellers remain responsible for ensuring that such information continues to be accurate.

Product claims. Unless Bee Market expressly states otherwise in relation to a specific check, Trusted Seller verification does not mean that Bee Market has independently verified every claim made in a Seller's listings, including claims concerning product origin, ingredients, quality, safety, authenticity, composition, production methods or suitability for a particular purpose.

Removal of Trusted Seller status. Bee Market may request additional or updated information from a Trusted Seller at any time. Bee Market may refuse, suspend or remove Trusted Seller status where information cannot be verified, becomes inaccurate or outdated, required information is not provided, the Seller breaches these Terms or applicable policies, or Bee Market reasonably considers removal necessary to protect Buyers, the Platform or the integrity of the Trusted Seller programme.

Removal or suspension of Trusted Seller status does not necessarily terminate the Seller's Bee Market account. However, Bee Market may separately restrict selling privileges, remove listings, suspend or terminate an account where permitted under these Terms or our policies.

Bee Market may change the eligibility requirements, checks, presentation or operation of the Trusted Seller programme from time to time in order to improve the programme, respond to regulatory requirements or protect users of the Platform.

6. Buying on Bee Market

Bee Market is an online marketplace. When you purchase on the Platform, you are buying directly from an independent Seller; Bee Market is not the seller of record. Bee Market acts as the Seller’s limited payment collection agent to accept funds via Stripe and settle the Seller’s payout in accordance with these Terms.

By placing an order, you (the Buyer) agree to: (a) pay the total amount shown at checkout in GBP; (b) provide an accurate delivery address and contact details; (c) comply with any Seller return policy shown on the listing; and (d) communicate honestly and respectfully with Sellers through the Platform.

Pricing and delivery are shown exactly as selected by the Seller. Buyers will see either a fixed delivery charge added to the item price or “Free Delivery” where the seller covers delivery. The delivery cost is included in the total shown at checkout. If a return is accepted, the buyer is refunded the item price only and the standard outbound delivery charge shown at checkout. The buyer is responsible for paying the return postage back to the seller.

Orders, Dispatch & Tracking. Sellers aim to dispatch within the time they state on the listing. Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed by Bee Market. Once dispatched, tracking (where available) is provided by the Seller or carrier. Ensure your address and access details are correct; missed deliveries or incorrect addresses may cause delays or additional costs.

Refunds, Returns & Disputes. Bee Market provides a limited dispute process for non-receipt only. If an item was never shipped or never arrived, we may investigate and, at our sole discretion, issue a refund to the Buyer. For other issues (condition, suitability, sizing, taste, etc.), Buyers must work directly with the Seller under the Seller’s stated return policy and in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy (UK), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to be bound by that policy.

Returns may be refused for strictly non-returnable categories (e.g., live bees/queens/colonies, opened edible or hygiene-sensitive items, custom-made goods, certain used equipment with biosecurity risk, or digital access goods), unless required by UK law or expressly agreed in writing by the Seller.

Refund amounts. Where a refund is due, the Buyer will receive back the product price together with the standard outbound delivery charge paid at checkout (if any). Premium or expedited delivery services are not normally refunded. Refunds do not cover Buyer-fault or change-of-mind scenarios unless required by UK law or the Seller has agreed otherwise.

Cancellations. Orders may only be cancelled with the Seller’s agreement prior to dispatch.Cancellation Policy (UK). After dispatch, cancellations are no longer possible and the order will be handled under the Seller’s return policy (if applicable).

Prohibited Conduct. Buyers must not engage in abusive behaviour, fraud, payment chargeback abuse, or attempt to complete transactions off-platform after using Bee Market to discover or communicate with Sellers. Bee Market may restrict accounts, reverse platform features, or take other action to protect users and the Platform.

Reviews. Leave honest, fair feedback based on your experience. Reviews must not contain unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or misleading content. We may remove reviews that breach these Terms.

Nothing in this section limits any non-excludable statutory rights under UK law. Where you buy from a Business Seller, they remain responsible for compliance with applicable consumer protection requirements.

7. Returns, Refunds & Disputes

By accepting these Terms, you also agree to Bee Market’s Returns & Refunds Policy (UK), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and governs all returns, refunds, and related processes on the Platform.
Bee Market is a marketplace, not the seller of items listed by users. We offer a limited dispute process primarily for non-receipt or are significantly not as described. For all other issues (condition, suitability, sizing, taste, etc.), Buyers and Sellers must follow the above policy and the return setting selected on the listing.

If a Buyer and Seller cannot reach an agreement regarding a return or refund, the Buyer may open a formal dispute through Bee Market. We strongly encourage both parties to communicate openly and make every reasonable effort to resolve the matter directly before doing so. Once a dispute is opened, Bee Market will review the case and may issue a determination. Any decision made by Bee Market in this context is final, binding, and not subject to further challenge within the Platform, while your statutory rights under UK law remain unaffected.

Deposit payments. Some listings may allow a Buyer to pay a partial deposit to reserve an item. Unless the item is not delivered or is significantly not as described, deposits are non-refundable. If a Buyer cancels after paying a deposit, the deposit may be retained by the Seller as compensation for reserving the item and removing it from sale.

When Collection Is Chosen: If a Buyer chooses in-person collection, the Buyer is expected to inspect the item before taking it away. If the Buyer decides not to collect because the item is clearly different from the listing, they may request a refund through Bee Market. However, once the Buyer has collected and accepted the item, the transaction is considered final — no returns or refunds are available. Bee Market does not mediate quality or condition concerns after handover, as these must be addressed at the point of collection.

Summary (platform standard)

• Sellers choose one of two settings per listing: 14-Day Return (default) or No Returns Accepted.

• Under 14-Day Return, the Buyer usually pays return postage unless UK law requires the Seller to cover it (e.g., faulty, significantly not as described, substantially damaged on arrival, or not delivered).

No Returns Accepted is reserved for categories where returns are unsafe/impractical (e.g., live bees, hygiene-sensitive items once seals are broken, worn/used protective clothing, custom/personalised items). Statutory rights still apply.

Deposits are generally non-refundable if a Buyer cancels after reserving an item. Deposits may only be refunded where required by UK law (for example if the item is not delivered or significantly not as described).

Collection orders are final once handover occurs; Buyers must inspect items at pickup.

• Refunds follow UK law: when required, refunds include the item price and the standard outbound delivery charge shown at checkout.

• Bee Market platform fees are charged on every completed transaction and are deducted from the Seller’s payout.

• The cost of the outbound delivery label is generally not recoverable once used. If an order is returned, the Seller may remain responsible for that cost.

• If an order is cancelled or refunded, the Buyer will receive the full amount paid. Any outbound delivery label that has already been generated remains the responsibility of the Seller.

All returns must be requested and agreed through Bee Market messaging before an item is sent back. Items must be returned in the same condition, with only the handling necessary to check nature and quality. Sellers issue refunds after receiving the return or receiving adequate proof of posting, in accordance with the Returns & Refunds Policy.

Bee Market may review disputes (e.g., non-receipt) case-by-case to ensure the listing’s return setting and UK law are applied fairly. Our administrative determinations are final within the Platform and do not affect any statutory rights a Buyer may have against a Seller under UK consumer law.

Chargebacks are handled via Stripe and may result in holds, reversals, or recovery from the Seller’s balance per Section 8. Bee Market may place holds, delay/reverse payouts, restrict features, or suspend accounts to protect users and the Platform.

8. Fees and Payments

All payments are collected by Bee Market from the Buyer and, after fees and any applicable holds, the balance is transferred to the Seller. Payments are processed via Stripe. Off-platform payments are strictly prohibited.

The details of our fees, delivery-label handling, reserve periods, payouts, and chargebacks are set out in our Fees and Payments Policy and our rules for returns and refunds are set out in the Returns & Refunds Policy. Both policies are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Platform fee: 7% per transaction (minimum £0.30), calculated on the total paid by the Buyer; deducted from the Seller’s payout.
Delivery labels: Purchased by Bee Market; postage is deducted from the Buyer’s payment before the Seller’s payout.
Holds & payouts: Orders are subject to a 14-day reserve after tracked delivery/collection. Bee Market may withhold, delay, or reverse payouts for fraud, breaches, chargebacks, or disputes.
Stripe Connect: Payouts require successful Stripe onboarding and approval completed on Bee Market via Stripe’s official API.
Refunds & chargebacks: See the Fees Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy for details on how refunds are processed, delivery label costs, return-postage responsibility, and chargeback handling. If an order is cancelled or refunded, the Buyer receives the full amount paid. Any outbound delivery label that has already been generated remains the responsibility of the Seller.

We strongly recommend that all Sellers read our Fees and Payments Policy in full. It explains every stage of how fees and payouts work — from the moment a sale is made, through reserves and potential disputes, to the final transfer of funds to your bank account — with clear step-by-step examples.

9. Taxes and Compliance

Users are responsible for reporting income and paying any applicable taxes related to their activity on Bee Market. Bee Market does not provide tax advice and is not responsible for user compliance with HMRC or other tax authorities.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bee Market Ltd, its operators, affiliates, staff, and representatives from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or legal expenses arising out of or in connection with:

Your use of or reliance on the Platform
Your listings, products, content, communications, or transactions
Any breach of these Terms or violation of applicable laws
Any dispute or issue between you and another user (Buyer or Seller)

All users acknowledge that Bee Market is not a party to any contract between Buyers and Sellers. Bee Market’s discretionary decisions are binding within the Platform and do not create liability for Bee Market.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bee Market and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or in connection with your use of the Platform, products, or services.

Bee Market’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the Bee Market service fees earned from the specific transaction giving rise to the claim. Bee Market is not liable for the value of goods, shipping costs, Stripe fees, or other third-party charges.

Any claim must be filed individually within 12 months of the event. Bee Market’s dispute decisions are final and cannot be appealed.

12. Platform Use

When using the Bee Market Platform, you agree that you will not:

Use Bee Market for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
Post or share misleading, deceptive, abusive, defamatory, or inappropriate content
Infringe intellectual property or rights of Bee Market, other users, or third parties
Interfere with or attempt to access the Platform, its data, or systems without authorization
Exploit, copy, or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform
Spam, harass, or misuse communication features

Bee Market may suspend, restrict, or terminate access without prior notice where it believes these Terms have been violated or where necessary to protect the community.

13. Intellectual Property

The Bee Market Platform and all materials on it (the “Bee Market IP”) are owned by or licensed to Bee Market Ltd and protected by IP laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform solely for its intended purpose. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, display, perform, scrape, extract, or reverse-engineer any part of the Bee Market IP.

User Content: You retain ownership of your content (e.g., listings, photos, reviews), but grant Bee Market Ltd a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence (with sublicensing rights) to host, reproduce, display, distribute, and use that content to operate and improve the Platform.

Branding: “Bee Market”, our logos, and related brand identifiers are proprietary to Bee Market Ltd. A trademark application for “Bee Market” is currently pending. You may not use our branding without prior written permission.

Infringement: Report suspected infringement to support@bee-market.co.uk with sufficient details.

14. Changes to These Terms

Bee Market may amend or update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting unless specified otherwise. For material changes, we may notify you via email or platform notification.

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using Bee Market.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes.

Any legal claim must be brought individually and within twelve (12) months of the event.
