Cancellation Policy – Bee Market (UK)
Effective date: 1 March 2026
This Cancellation Policy explains when and how orders may be cancelled on Bee Market. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions and should be read alongside our Returns & Refunds Policy and Fees and Payments Policy.
1) General cancellation rules
Buyers may request cancellation only through Bee Market. Sellers must not ask Buyers to cancel outside the platform, and all refunds must be processed through Bee Market’s checkout system.
- A cancellation request may be made before dispatch or, for collection orders, before the item has been marked as collected.
- Once an order has been dispatched, or a collection has been completed, the order usually cannot be cancelled and will instead fall under the applicable return rules.
- Bee Market may restrict, refuse, or reverse cancellations where there is evidence of fraud, misuse, policy abuse, or a dispute already in progress.
2) Buyer cancellation requests before dispatch
If the Seller has not yet dispatched the order, the Buyer may request cancellation through Bee Market. Sellers are expected to act promptly and fairly.
- If the order has not been dispatched and no collection has taken place, the Seller should normally accept the cancellation.
- If a delivery label has already been generated, the order may no longer qualify for standard cancellation. The Buyer may request cancellation, but it is at the Seller’s discretion whether to accept it. The Seller remains responsible for the cost of the outbound delivery label.
- If the item has already been dispatched, the order cannot normally be cancelled. The Buyer should instead submit a return request after the item has been delivered, which will be handled under the Returns & Refunds Policy.
- For pre-order items, if the Buyer cancels the order after paying a deposit, the deposit is non-refundable. Deposits secure the reservation of the item and compensate the Seller for holding stock and preparation costs.
3) Seller-initiated cancellations
Sellers must only cancel where there is a valid reason. Seller cancellations may affect Seller performance and may lead to warnings, account restrictions, or further action where repeated.
- Sellers may cancel if the item is no longer available, damaged before dispatch, incorrectly listed, or cannot lawfully or safely be fulfilled.
- Sellers must not cancel simply to avoid completing a sale, to relist at a higher price, or to move the transaction off-platform.
- If a Seller cancels an order, the Buyer will receive a refund through Bee Market. This includes any deposit paid for a pre-order item, which must be refunded in full.
4) Pre-orders and deposit payments
Some Bee Market listings may allow a deposit or pre-order arrangement, for example where bees, nuclei, colonies, queens, or custom-prepared items require time before fulfilment.
- Change-of-mind cancellations for deposit or pre-order items are usually not accepted once the Seller has begun preparation, reservation, breeding, splitting, packing, or other item-specific work.
- If the Seller cannot supply the item, materially delays beyond what was agreed, or the item is faulty or misdescribed, the Buyer’s statutory rights still apply.
- Where the Seller marks a pre-order as ready, the Buyer may be asked to complete final payment before delivery or collection is arranged.
Important: Deposit and pre-order payments are generally intended to reserve stock, preparation time, or livestock availability. They are therefore usually non-refundable for simple change-of-mind cancellations, unless UK consumer law requires otherwise.
5) Delivery, collection, and when cancellation ends
Cancellation rights on Bee Market are tied to whether the order has actually moved into fulfilment.
- For delivery orders, cancellation usually ends once the Seller has dispatched the item.
- For collection orders, cancellation usually ends once the item has been collected or the Seller has valid proof of collection.
- After dispatch or collection, any issue must usually be dealt with through a return, dispute, or claim under Bee Market’s other policies.
6) Refunds following cancellation
Where a cancellation is accepted, Bee Market will process the refund back to the original payment method, subject to these Terms and any applicable legal rights.
- Refunds are deducted from the Seller’s available balance, reserve, or future payouts.
- The Buyer receives the full amount originally paid.
- If a delivery label has already been generated or purchased, the Seller may also remain responsible for that cost.
- Bee Market may delay or pause a refund where there is an active dispute, chargeback risk, fraud concern, or another compliance issue requiring review.
Example: If a Buyer cancels before dispatch after payment has already been processed, the Buyer may receive a full refund, but the Seller may still remain responsible for any outbound label cost already incurred.
7) Faulty, misdescribed, or undelivered items
Nothing in this Cancellation Policy removes or limits a Buyer’s rights under UK consumer law. If an item is faulty, significantly not as described, substantially damaged on arrival, or never delivered, the Buyer may be entitled to cancellation, refund, return rights, or other legal remedies.
8) Chargebacks and misuse
Buyers must use Bee Market’s cancellation and refund process before raising a payment dispute wherever possible. Abuse of cancellations, repeated bad-faith requests, or misuse of chargebacks may lead to account action.
- If a Buyer raises a chargeback, Stripe may debit Bee Market for the disputed payment.
- Bee Market may recover the refunded amount, Stripe processing fees, and related costs from the Seller where permitted under these Terms.
- Sellers must cooperate with evidence requests and provide documents or tracking information where needed.
